Individual Counselling

Online and telephone counselling available for people in Wells, Somerset and English speakers across the globe.

Individual counselling helps people with their emotional issues, which can range in order of severity or intensity. The main aim of this counselling is to change the quality of a persons life by bringing more clarity about what is going on and how to move forward. Whether it is the problem of repressed childhood that you are facing, or an emotional breakdown due to divorce, failure or loss of a loved one, a professional counsellor can help you revive your mental health through systematic counselling.

There are many emotional issues that find a corner in our heart, and refuse to die down. With time, these issues can transform into a sort of ’emotional tumor’ that impacts our daily life negatively, such as lack of concentration, enthusiasm, self respect, will to change, encouragement, and so on. These issues can spiral into our lives in various ways and gets channelled into other zones, which can create problems in the relationships, professional life, and health. Working together we address the root cause of the problem.

Improving your wellbeing

We tend to focus on our physical health, spending money going down the gym or in the supermarket in the search of the perfect body shape and yet, we often ignore our mental and emotional health: until something goes wrong; until we feel stressed, anxious or depressed. While I am not an expert in physical or financial fitness, I am able to help build your mental fitness. Improving your emotional and social fitness contributes to improving your physical and financial fitness.

  • Emotional Wellbeing: Developing the skills that help us build our metal fitness can help us live a calmer, less stressful life. Learning to manage our emotions by developing mindful awareness is a key skill for us.
  • Social Wellbeing: As human persons we are social animals, we cannot successfully survive alone; we are dependant upon the mutual aid of others. Building effective relationships is central to our long-term wellbeing.
  • Physical Wellbeing: If anything has come out of the COVID-19 pandemic is the need to make sure we look after our bodies. Nutrition, exercise, sleep, and fresh air have become so important for our welfare they cannot be ignored. Developing mental fitness helps support all these key areas.
  • Financial Wellbeing: Counselling can help your improve your finances; for example any addictions (drug, alcohol, food, porn, games …) addressing the issues that compel you to embrace these addictions can have a positive impact on your finances.

Get to know me

Deciding which counsellor to work with face-to-face or online can be a challenge. It is important that the therapist (counsellor/psychotherapist, psychologist) you choose is a good fit for you because, as a great deal of research suggests, the relationship you build with your counsellor has a significant impact on the outcome of any counselling intervention.

I offer all potential clients a free phone or video conversation. During our conversation, you will have an chance to explore:

  • Your concerns
  • Your counselling goals
  • Your previous experiences with counselling
  • Ask me about how I work with clients and what therapeutic orientations I use when counselling people
  • Ask questions about costs, timescales and frequency of sessions
  • and anything else you are concerned about.

Don’t worry if you are not sure about what you want from counselling; often people will say to me that they don’t know what is wrong. This is normal and often what people think is the case of the problem is a symptom of a different emotional issue.

Let’s work together

and use online counselling to help you shape your future!
